Students from Prep to Year 6 have been working hard this term, drawing, designing, and exploring all things symmetrical and 3D! From Pixel towns to Tetris I have been blow away with their creativity and persistence as they develop new skills and techniques for bringing their designs to life.
Throughout our unit we have explored a range of modern 3D artists, graphic designers, and famous brand creators including, Peter Tarka, Eslam Mhd and Guillaume Kurkdjian.
We have used our maths and STEM skills to turn our designs into artefacts and built models to transform into 3D designs.
Prep to Year 2
Can we Pixel, yes we can! Building on their line, colour and symmetry skills,
the prep to Year 2's have done an amazing job reimagining our community as a fantastic Pixel City. From homes to shops, pools and the Fire station, they have used their reproduction skills to bring their designs to life.
Year 3 to 6
The Middle and Upper schools have been working hard to hone their 3D art skills this term. Using Isometric paper they have created a range of 3D masterpieces, playing with light, shadow and monochromatic colour pallets. They bring this unit to a close with some Tetris inspired works.
Book Week
'Bringing books to life'. This book week celebration saw our students made the books the star of the show, depicting a range of genres as the main characters of their own stories.
Coming up in VA
I am very excited to see what our young creative minds will bring to the table as we move into our next unit focused on famous pop art techniques and artists.
