Multiage

Celebrating Learning

The Multi-Age students have been having a lot of fun participating in the Potato Olymics. Students each chose a country to represent, then decorated their potato athletes.

Originally developed by the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute as a way to explore the numeracy in Olympic events, we have added our own spin on things. There are eight events on the schedule: running, gymnastics, breakdancing, weightlifting, long jump, archery, basketball, and diving. Students have been utilising their Maths skills such as number recognition, measurement, time, and addition.

"Gymnastics was my favourite because it was fun to balance with your potato." – Noor

"For the running event we rolled our potato athletes outside. The winner was the potato that went the furthest. Australia (Walter) won." - Daniel
