Welcome

In this first edition of MY FUTURE Careers News for Term 3, students are in full preparation mode for 2025. The Year 12 cohort have begun to apply for tertiary entry via VTAC (Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre). The students have until Monday, 30 September to set up and apply for entry. This in conjunction with Open Days and Information Sessions, mean that Term 3 is a very busy time for them. There will be a parents information session on the evening of Thursday, 15 August. Details to follow.

The Year 10 students have recently undertaken a Pathways Program where they began the process towards completing their Senior Years at the College. The feedback from the students was extremely positive and I have had many follow up conversations regarding their pathways and subject selection. This was followed up by our annual Futures Expo. We had a fantastic turnout of students and their parents. They were able to speak to teachers about subjects, hear about the VCE and VCE VM pathways, find out the parameters for acceleration, speak to Universities and TAFEs and even tour our fantastic facilities for learning. They all completed their subject selections this week. Parents and Guardians should be very proud of the way in which the cohort approached this very important process in their educational journey.

In addition, this edition includes information on

  • Open Day events continue at universities and TAFEs
  • Code Like a Girl: Virtual Engineers Summit
  • Competition – National History Challenge
  • How to become a Cosmetic Nurse
  • How to write a great letter.
