The Assumption (August 15) refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary being assumed — body and soul — into heaven at the end of her earthly life. “Assumption” is different than “ascension” because one is passive (i.e. one is assumed) and the other is active (i.e. one ascends). It is by the power of God Mary was assumed.
Our school will be attending Mass to celebrate this Feast day on Thursday, 15th August at 9.30am. Please join us!
On Monday, 12th August from 11 - 12.30pm, our Stage 3 students, Mrs Bartholomew and Mrs Canham visited the Quirindi Outreach Class at the Fr Stan Campbell Hall. The students joined the class participants in some games of Bingo, Hoy and lots of conversations and laughs! There were some items from yesteryear that the students had to guess the name of also. Mrs Colleen Wills treated us to a tune of Twinkle, Little Star on the accordion. A sausage sandwich and ice-cream in a cone were very much enjoyed. A massive thank you to Ms Rebecca Wills for inviting us to join her group. We are already looking forward to our next time with you all.
