Music and Performing Arts: A Busy Close to Term Two

As we move towards the end of Term Two, the Music and Performing Arts calendar is full, with a number of opportunities for students to perform, learn from visiting artists, and share their work with the College community.

On Friday, 22 May, we look forward to welcoming the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra to the College. During their visit, members of the Orchestra will spend time with our students in workshop settings, offering valuable insight, guidance and encouragement.

In the evening, the wider community is invited to attend the public concert, with tickets required - visit our website.

The following week begins with the Wellness Week Music Gala on Monday, 25 May at 6.00pm. This concert will showcase the breadth of College Music, from string ensembles to choir, and will provide students with an important opportunity to perform ahead of the Hamilton Eisteddfod.

Wellness Week will conclude with College Has Got Talent on Friday, 29 May. This event is always a celebration of student confidence, creativity and courage.

Tickets required - visit our website.

The Hamilton Eisteddfod will provide a strong performance focus, with Music sections running from 1 to 5 June, followed by Dance from 9 to 14 June. We wish all students involved every success as they prepare to represent the College.

Rehearsals are also continuing for our Senior School production of Chicago: Teen Edition, with students working steadily towards the August showcase. Tickets will go on sale at the end of term, and we look forward to sharing more details soon.

We have announced the 2026 House Music theme, which will be Songs from Glee, with Queen’s Somebody to Love selected as the required choral item. House Music will take place in September and promises to be another highlight of the Performing Arts year - tickets are by invitation due to limited seating.

Thank you to our students, staff and families for the energy and support they continue to bring to Music and Performing Arts at the College. Term Two is a busy one, but it is also a clear reminder of the confidence, commitment and talent within our community.
