We are so excited to announce that Wellness Week is just around the corner, and if the lineup of activities is anything to go by, it is going to be one to remember!
A heartfelt thank you must go to Zane and Phoebe, along with the entire SRC, for the incredible amount of thought, energy, and enthusiasm they have poured into organising this special week. The range of activities they have put together truly reflects their commitment to making our school community a happy, connected, and fun place to be.
So, what's in store? Students can look forward to a packed week of activities designed to bring smiles, foster friendships, and get everyone moving and involved. From a disco and warming hot chocolates, to a 3x3 basketball competition and a paper plane championship — there is genuinely something for everyone. Students are also invited to spread a little kindness through friendship notes, get outdoors and kick the footy, and of course, cheer on their fellow students (or the staff!) in what promises to be a fiercely contested staff vs. students volleyball match.
And that's just the beginning.
The week builds to a spectacular Friday finish — starting with a Casual Clothes Day and a whole-school BBQ, complete with live music to set the mood. Then, as the sun goes down, the curtain rises on the much-anticipated College Has Got Talent, featuring an incredible 17 acts from across our school community. It is going to be a night full of laughter, surprise, and seriously impressive talent.
Wellness Week is a wonderful reminder of what makes our College such a special place. We hope every student embraces the week, gets involved, and takes a moment to check in with themselves and those around them.
Also, next week -
We are hosting Wellways and Brophy for their Community Forum: Building Resilience and Supporting Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Designed for parents, carers, educators, community groups, clubs and anyone with young people in their lives, the forum will provide an opportunity to learn more about local youth service providers and the support available for young people and families.
The evening will be MC’d by local farmer and Muster Dogs participant Jack Kennedy, with guest speaker Andrew Fuller sharing practical strategies to help teens grow from setbacks, build friendships and confidence, manage tricky behaviours and use technology in a healthy way.
The free event will be held at the Kantor Family Music and Performing Arts Centre. Registration is via the link Understanding Youth: A forum for everyone supporting or raising teens in the modern world.
