Australian Junior National Athletics Championships
We are thrilled to hear that Alice Hollingsworth, Year 11, has qualified to represent Victoria for the upcoming Australian Junior National Athletics Championships, to be hosted in Adelaide next month.
This well-deserved opportunity comes on the heels of Alice's exceptional year, marked by Gold and Silver medals at the State Championships in the U18 4x100m relay and 100m hurdles, respectively. Alice also secured Bronze in hurdles at the All Schools Championships this past October.
We wish Alice the best of luck as she takes the next step in her athletics career.
Victorian Open Long Course Swimming Championships
In late February, five of our students competed in the Victorian Open Long Course Championships at MSAC.
Kilvington swimmers, namely Mary Steele (Year 8), Annie Steele (Year 10), Henry Kiosoglous (Year 11), Greta Saville (Year 12) and Liam Molloy (Year 12), all competed side by side with the world’s best, such as Kaylee McKeown, Emma McKeon, Isaac Cooper, Sam Williamson and Cody Simpson (all of whom are part of the Olympic Squad). The State Open Champs was a joint event with the world para champs.
Our swimmers displayed a great deal of GRIT and perseverance to even compete during this weekend. We are so proud of Mary, Annie, Liam, Henry and Greta on their hard work and outstanding efforts. All our swimmers did well overall.
A special congratulations to Annie Steele and Liam Molloy who have qualified for the Olympic trials in June! How incredible!
