Parent Information Evening

Holy Family provides many opportunities for parents throughout the year to be involved in the life of the school. Researchers around the world agree that when parents are involved in their children’s learning, it can have a tremendous impact on education outcomes. As we embark on a new academic year, I am delighted to extend a warm invitation to our Beginning of Year Parent Information Evening.

Date: Tuesday, 13th February

Kindergarten	5pm in the Kindy classrooms
Kinder to Year 6 - Principal's address	6.00- 6.30pm in MacKillop hall
Session One - teacher presentation)	6.30 -7.00pm in classrooms
Session Two (a repeat of session one)	7.00 - 7.30pm in classrooms

Education is about valuing and nurturing every young person’s uniqueness and assisting them to fulfil their capabilities as students and later as adults. Parents and schools have a joint interest to ensure that our school provides an environment that is conducive to successful learning and personal achievement.

This evening serves as an excellent opportunity for you to meet our dedicated teaching staff, gain insights into our curriculum, and familiarize yourselves with the various programs and initiatives we have planned for the academic year. Your active participation and engagement are crucial in fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment for your child.

We look forward to your presence and active participation in making this event a success. Together, we can create a nurturing and enriching environment for our students.

Year 6 Leadership

I wish to congratulate our Year 6 leaders who have made a commitment to uphold the values of our school and to live out our motto of "Strength and Gentleness" in their daily works. The Year 6 students with guidance from Mrs Overton showed great leadership when they presented their very first whole school assembly this week. We look forward to welcoming all parents at our whole school assemblies held in MacKillop hall at 2.15pm every Tuesday.

Swimming Carnival

Our Holy Family Swimming Carnival, held today, was a wonderful event that brought together students, teachers, and parents for a day of friendly competition and community spirit. Each house had its unique cheers, banners, and colours, creating a fabulous atmosphere around the pool. Well done to all the children for swimming their very best when competing in events.

Thank you to the teachers and House Captains for all their help in the preparation of and on the day. Thank you to the numerous parents who volunteered their time and efforts. Your support is greatly appreciated. A special thanks to Miss Bartos who worked tirelessly to make the carnival such a success.

Parent Charter

The Catholic Schools Broken Bay (CSBB) Parent Charter was launched in term 4, 2023 and places great emphasis on respectful, open, and two-way communication with a shared commitment of partnership within our community, to nurture the academic, social and emotional growth of all students.

COVID Advice - (NSW Gov)

If a student is unwell and has any COVID-19 symptoms, even the mildest of symptoms, they should always test for COVID-19.
If the test comes back negative for COVID-19, the student should still not return to school until either:
- the student no longer has any symptoms, or
- a medical certificate is provided to the school confirming that symptoms are explained by another diagnosis (such as allergies or hay fever).

If staff or students test positive for COVID, they should only return to school once they test negative and no longer have symptoms.

Smart Phones

Just a little reminder that if your child comes to school with a 'smart enabled' watch or phone they must be turned off and placed in the basket in the school office prior to the commencement of classes.
