Student attendance and impact of absences on learning
A reminder that students are expected to be at school every day. While we really appreciate and respect keeping kids home when genuinely unwell, it is so important to remember that every day counts! Keep in mind that every day your child is away adds up over their learning journey and ultimately has an impact on their learning growth and development. It doesn’t take long before kids are missing weeks or even terms of learning over their time at school.
Our 2024 school goal is to keep absence data below 10 days per child - that certainly sounds like a lot of days, however, you really would be surprised at how many children have more days than this absent each year!
Please know that your child’s attendance at school is so important to us and we will be following up personally where children are away, especially on an increasing basis. Remember, every day counts!
