Peer Support

Congratulations to the Peer Support Leaders chosen for 2024. The Peer Support program is a buddy program for senior students to assist the new Year 7s with their transition to high school. It is also a great opportunity for the Year 11s and 12s participating to develop teamwork, organisational, communication and leadership skills.

I am really proud of the leaders we have for 2024. They are to be congratulated for their efforts on the training day, for choosing to participate in the program, and also for giving their time on Orientation Day which was held on Tuesday 12 December.

The new leaders came in after their holidays had already started, to run the first round of ‘getting to know you’ activities with their 2024 Year 7 groups. They demonstrated reliability, confidence, organisation and enthusiasm on the day and I look forward to working with them and the new Year 7 cohort in 2024. The program has begun being run during Home Group on Monday’s and Thursday’s during Term 1 of this year.

Thank you to Linda for catering the training day and Gen, Amanda and Corey for assisting with cooking and serving the food on the day. Thank you to Mr. Clancy, Mr. Callaway, Mrs. Nichol and Mrs. Borger for running the training sessions. A thank you also to Mrs. Pellegrino for organising the year 7 groups and to Ms. Doller for taking photos on the orientation day. Lots of staff gave up their time to help in big and small ways to help this program get started again so thank you to each of them also.
