Freshman’s Showjumping Day
On the 16 November the Year 8 & 9 equine class ran a Freshman’s Show
Jumping Day.
We started the first rounds at 9am, with poles going up by 10cm each round to a maximum height of 120cm. We had a great turn out with people of all ages and riding ability, including a number of our past students returning to participate in the day.
The day was about gaining confidence for both rider and horse, and we are so happy with how the day went and extremely grateful to all the people who helped out.
Thank you to Kristen Aitken for manning the parking all day, and to Archie Aitken who came and helped with set up. A huge thank you also to Harry Mercer, Charlie Hiscock, Finley Hiscock, Horsemanship Captain, Evie Kennedy and Isla Reilly, who helped with putting up the poles each round and to Archie Prosser for manning the BBQ.
Thanks to Di Robertson for her support at the end of the day, too.
Emily Hann, Yvette Boyle, Harriet Stacey and Rachel Aitken
Thursday 4 December at 3:30pm – 7:30pm
This will be a wonderful afternoon of riding, friendly House competition and celebration as we wrap up our equestrian year together.
The event is open to all College students from ELC and up, and we warmly encourage riders of all levels to take part.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to show their House spirit, support each other, and enjoy a positive, inclusive competition environment. We look forward to sharing a great evening with our riders and families.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.
