FRENCH DAY
Children enjoyed many activities throughout the day: They visited the Cafe, made friendship bracelets, played home ball, did a frog hunt, visited the catacombs and the modern art Museum, ate yummy waffles and sorbet from Flemmings Berries. Thanks to Mme Gatehouse for always going above and beyond to ensure the children have the best day. Thank you to the grade 6's for your services today as well.
3-6 Bike Safety Talk
2 members of our local police department visited the 3-6 students to talk about bike safety. Some of our local police will ride with the 5 and 6's over the coming weeks. We are very grateful for giving up their time to help with our program.
CHRISTMAS DISCO
We are after helpers on the day to help supervise. Any parents with a current WWCC can send their details to the office.
The St Laurence Parish community celebrates the feast day of its patron saint - St Laurence O'Toole each year on November 14.
SSt. Laurence is the special saint of Dublin and its diocese. Laurence’s life was truly amazing! He became Abbot of Glendalough when he was only 25 years old, and later became the first Irish Archbishop of Dublin in his early30s. People trusted and respected him — the Irish, the Vikings, and the Normans. He was known for bringing peace between people who disagreed. He was loved in both Ireland and France, where he died on November 14, 1180, and he became a saint in 1225.St. Laurence lived during a time when the world around him was changing a lot. He welcomed new people and ideas and made sure everyone felt included in his church. He built churches, prayed often, and was said to have performed miracles. But the best thing about him was his kindness — he cared deeply for the poor, for people without homes, and for children who had no families. He even gave them shelter in his own home. We ask God to help us be like St. Laurence — to be kind and caring, to bring peace, to help those in need, and to work together as our church changes. - Catherine Riseley
