NSW All Schools Cricket Selection

We’re excited to celebrate Year 8 student, Caleb Anderson, on his selection in the NSW All Schools Under 15 Cricket Team. Caleb will head to Bunbury, WA in February to compete - and he was the only country student selected.

What an outstanding effort!

Inter-Schools Tennis

On Thursday 27 November students from Years 6 – 9 played singles and doubles tennis against The Scots School Albury. It was a terrific opportunity for those players to represent the school and showcase their skills. Scots were stronger overall and won more matches, but Trinity had several talented younger students playing against opponents who were much older and bigger, so our efforts were extremely commendable.

Indeed, we had boys in years 6, 7 and 8 competing against those in years 9 and 10 and Parker Thorneycroft and Darsh Shah both won their singles, while Oscar King lost a very close match and George Whitsed was competitive in his.

The highlight was the high standard boys doubles match played by Oscar King and Darsh Shah, which saw them narrowly go down in 7 – 6. There were some extremely entertaining rallies! Year 7 student Olivia O’Kell won the majority of her matches against older players, including winning her doubles with Zoe Tomlinson who also played well against the older girls, while Yozora Hooper and Molly Collins had close losses in the singles but won their doubles matches.

The Year 7 and 8 boys in the junior section were up against some very good opposition, but Max Doolan won his singles match, while Charlie McCormack, Tavish Pathak and Henry Quast played as well as was possible. In the junior girls, Charlotte Gordon won her singles, Lydia Bergmeier was busy playing both tennis and cricket on the day and Isobel Lappin did a terrific job considering she had hardly played tennis before trying out for the team.

The aim is to make this an annual competition, which would be wonderful. Students from both schools played in the right spirit and it was a pleasure to coordinate the teams.

Inter-Schools Cricket

On Thursday, students from Years 6–9 represented Trinity in cricket fixtures against The Scots School Albury. It was a fantastic opportunity for our boys and girls to showcase their developing skills, compete with pride, and demonstrate the true spirit of school sport.

In the A Grade Boys, Scots proved the stronger side overall, but our players were widely praised for their sportsmanship and resilience. Trinity fielded a number of younger players against significantly older and more experienced opponents, making their efforts particularly commendable. Charlie Coulter and Jordan Daniel were standout contributors with the bat, both showing patience and class in their innings.

The B Grade Boys enjoyed a competitive day of cricket. Zach Ellis and Ziggy Clift led the bowling attack superbly, keeping Scots at arm’s length for much of the match through disciplined lines and consistent pressure. Although Scots eventually pulled away to secure the win, the Trinity boys displayed excellent teamwork and a strong understanding of the game.

In the Girls Cricket, there were several impressive individual performances. Thinuli Manamperi Koralage and Lily Jones delivered outstanding spells with the ball, regularly troubling the Scots batters. With the bat, Thinuli continued her excellent form, retiring not out after facing 30 balls in a composed and authoritative display—highlighting both her talent and temperament.

The aim is for cricket friendlies such as these to become an annual tradition, offering valuable experience for our emerging players. All teams competed in the right spirit, supported one another, and represented Trinity with pride throughout the day.

Golf awards

On Friday night, Jordan Daniels and Henry Pearson, both in Year 7, received awards at the Thurgoona Golf Committee presentation evening.

Jordan received the Men's Medal of Medals, and Henry was the Junior Nett Winner.

Congratulations Jordan and Henry!
