On Thursday, six primary basketball teams travelled to The Scots School Albury to compete in the 2025 Rob James Annual Scots v Trinity Basketball Challenge. The day was a terrific opportunity for our students to represent the College, develop their skills in a competitive environment, and experience the spirit of friendly rivalry between the two schools. Trinity enjoyed a highly successful day, winning five of the six games played.
The U10 Boys, coached by Charlie Bayliss, produced an impressive performance built on energy and teamwork. Harry Jackson was a standout on both ends of the court, demonstrating composure and athleticism beyond his years.
The U10 Girls, led by coach Lucy Kimball, also recorded a strong result. Tilleah Johnston was a key contributor, showcasing great speed and an ability to read the play, consistently putting her team in strong positions.
In the U12 Boys, coached by Blake Distefano and Ethan Crisp, Trinity continued their winning form. Jordy Rampal stood out with his control of the game, decision-making, and offensive impact, proving instrumental in guiding his team to victory.
The U12 Girls, coached by Molly Collins, faced a well-drilled Scots side and were outmatched on the day. Despite the challenge, the girls displayed excellent effort throughout, with Mia Winkler showing significant promise and determination in both offence and defence.
The U14 Boys, under the guidance of Ziggy Clift, performed with confidence and structure. Louie Menz was the standout performer, using his skill and presence to consistently influence the match.
In the U14 Girls, coached by Lucy Hocking, Trinity secured another strong win. Ayira Ezekwe was exceptional, demonstrating athleticism, strong defensive instincts, and impressive finishing at the basket.
Overall, the 2025 Rob James Annual Scots v Trinity Challenge was a tremendous success both on and off the court. Our players competed with pride, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while our student coaches and officials displayed outstanding leadership throughout the day. It was a privilege to see so many young athletes and leaders representing Trinity so confidently and respectfully.
A huge congratulations to Year 6 student Adeline Hartley, who recently achieved a national qualifying time for the Australian age Nationals at Gold Coast in April next year in the 200m Breaststroke. She also came incredibly close in the 100m Breaststroke, missing the qualifying mark by just 0.02 seconds.
Alongside these outstanding results, Adeline excelled across multiple events, earning several gold medals throughout the day.
What an incredible achievement — well done, Adeline!

In Week 7, Alexis Pritchard competed at National Athletics Championships. Alexis delivered an outstanding performance in the Combined Event, finishing 6th in Australia is an exceptional achievement on the national stage.
She recorded three impressive personal bests, taking 0.4 seconds off her 100m, cutting nearly 5 seconds from her 800m, and adding 90cm to her shot put. This experience has only strengthened her determination, with Alexis eager to continue working hard to reach even greater heights and ultimately chase that top spot.
Alexis also competed in the 4x100m relay, teaming up with two athletes from the Northern Territory and another NSW competitor in the 11 Years Girls event. The team ran strongly to finish in a proud 6th place.

Last week, our college proudly sent several teams to compete against Scots School Albury in a summer sports day where both tennis and cricket were played. Our students represented the College with enthusiasm, skill, and excellent sportsmanship.
Our Tennis teams enjoyed a fantastic day on the courts, competing strongly against the Scots students despite battling a fierce wind throughout the day. Students took away valuable learning from each match and should be proud of their efforts and improvement.
The Super 8 Cricket teams also had a very successful day, winning most of their games. More importantly, students in Years 3–6 demonstrated outstanding teamwork, encouragement, and participation, showcasing the true spirit of college sport.
Our Hard Ball Cricket team, led by captain Alby Clark, faced a very strong Scots side. Although Scots claimed the win, our boys competed incredibly well, displayed magnificent teamwork, and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Well done to all teams on a fantastic day out representing the College!
We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to Year 6 student, Flynn Mardling, who was part of the NSW All Schools Boys Netball Team earlier this term competing at the School Sport Australia Netball Boys 12 Years and Under Championship in Ballarat.
