Celebrating Year 6 and Looking Ahead

As we approach the end of another wonderful year in the Junior School, we have much to celebrate and reflect upon.

Year 6 Abseiling Adventure at Mt Buffalo

Our Year 6 students recently embarked on an unforgettable outdoor education experience at Mt Buffalo. The abseiling trip was a true test of courage, teamwork, and resilience. Watching students encourage one another as they descended the rock face was inspiring. This experience not only strengthened friendships but also built confidence as students embraced challenges beyond the classroom.

‘Best Day of My Life’ – Year 6 Performance

Our Year 6 students sang their hearts out at Tuesday’s assembly, delivering a wonderful performance.

Check out their amazing talent HERE

Year 6 End of Year Dinner

The Year 6 End of Year Dinner was a beautiful evening of celebration and reflection. Families, staff, and students gathered to share memories, achievements, and hopes for the future. It was a fitting farewell to our graduating class as they prepare to transition to Senior School.

More photos will be in the final 2025 newsletter next week.

Celebrating Community Spirit – Parker’s Kidz4Kids Disco

We are incredibly proud of Parker and the Thorneycroft family for their outstanding efforts in raising over $10,000 for Country Hope at the Kidz4Kids Disco last weekend.

This event was a fantastic example of community coming together for a worthy cause, with many of our staff, students, and families attending to support and raise awareness. We are especially proud of Parker and his leadership, showing his obvious traits of generosity, kindness and community spirit.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making a real difference for children and families in need.

Year 5 Camp

On Monday 24 November, the Year 5 students packed their suitcases with excitement and set off on a five-hour bus journey to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat for 2 nights. The bus was filled with chatter, laughter, and plenty of anticipation as we prepared to step back in time to the 1850s Gold Rush era.

When we arrived, the excitement only grew. After a quick lunch, we split into two groups: one exploring candle making and the other the confectionery workshop. At candle making, we watched a skilled maker demonstrate how candles were dipped, shaped, and coloured. Later, during our shopping time, many of us even had the chance to make our own.

The confectionery demonstration was just as fascinating. A talented confectioner showed us how simple ingredients could be transformed into delicious handmade lollies. The sweet smell filled the room, and getting to taste a freshly made lolly was a definite highlight! After a big first day, we headed back to our cosy cabins for a well-earned rest.

Throughout the few day we panned for gold, watched a dramatic gold pour, explored the shops, and ventured underground on the Mine Tour. One of the most unforgettable moments was the AURA night show—an immersive display of lights, sound, and storytelling that brought the history of Sovereign Hill to life.

Another highlight was the Costume School. We were split into four social classes: Saint Peter’s (wealthy), Red Hill (upper middle class), Wesleyan (lower middle class), and Ragged (the poorest). Dressed in period clothing, we experienced what life might have been like for children in each class, helping us understand the challenges of the past in a meaningful way.

All Year 5 students loved this immersive camp experience—and many of us wished it could have lasted even longer!

Step Up Day – A Great Success!

Our recent Step Up Day was a wonderful opportunity for students to meet their 2026 teachers and experience a taste of next year’s learning environment. The excitement and positivity across classrooms were evident, and we are confident this transition will set students up for success in the year ahead.

Please note that class placements have been carefully considered by our teaching team. Students will not be moved unless under extenuating circumstances or if the school feels an adjustment can be made that positively impacts both the student and the overall class design. Thank you for your trust and support in this process.

In addition to Step Up Day, our Year 6 students have spent time in Senior School classrooms over the past week, running their own Year 6 lessons in a new environment. This initiative has given students a valuable opportunity to experience the routines, expectations, and learning spaces they will encounter next year. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they prepare for this exciting next chapter.

Global Languagenut Competition

The Global Language Nut Competition has ended, and our students at Trinity should be very proud of themselves. Together, Trinity Anglican College placed 27th out of all the schools on Language Nut!

Christmas Hamper Donations

This year once again, the Junior School would like to assist those who are in need in our community. We are asking for donations of goods that can be placed in Christmas Hampers which are then given out by our Anglican Parishes via their food banks, to people that will most benefit.

The types of Christmas fare for hampers are those items people might eat themselves for Christmas celebrations; things like mince tarts, puddings and savoury nibbles as all these kinds of things are ideal and move out of the food banks quickly. The donation of food needs to be fresh – not past the use by date, and it cannot be food that requires refrigeration.

The aim is to donate to Christmas Hampers specifically, although, other food you would term as ‘normal’ food donations; pasta, tinned goods, those sorts of things are absolutely needed and very appreciated. If you find that you would like to donate, but can’t donate specific Christmas fare, then ‘normal’ food is also very welcome.

You may send your donations into your child’s classroom where classes will have a box designated for collection. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Campbell via michelle.campbell@trinityac.nsw.edu.au.

We are looking forward to helping share some Christmas cheer to those who may be finding life financially difficult during these times.
