Principals' Weekly Update

Working Bee thank you
A huge thank you to Scott, Jemma, Richard and Brendyn for an outstanding and productive Working Bee last Saturday November 22nd where all of the jobs required to be done were ticked off! It wasn't the quantity of our volunteers but the quality that made the difference. We loved seeing the children come as well and get their hands dirty helping our school grounds look amazing! Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers, we are very grateful for your help and for giving up your time on a busy Saturday!

Final Captain's Corner for 2025
Thank you to those of you who took the time to complete the survey regarding our 2025 initiative, Captain’s Corner which was recently featured in the newsletter. Your feedback helps us shape this project and ensure it includes information that is genuinely useful and engaging for our school community. We truly appreciate all the responses we received.
Here is a quick summary of your feedback:
Grade Levels – What year level is your child in?
We received responses from families across all grades, from Prep to Year 6. The highest number of responses came from Year 2 and Year 5, each with six responses, followed by Prep with five responses. All other year levels were evenly represented with four responses each. This wide spread of feedback gives us a great understanding of what interests families across the school.
Do you read Captain’s Corner?
Most families said yes, with 11 responses, and another 10 said they read it sometimes. Only five families indicated that they do not read Captain’s Corner. It’s encouraging to hear that the majority of you find the information useful, and this motivates us to continue improving the content.
What information would you like to see in the future?
The most requested content was information about upcoming or recent events, receiving 18 votes. This was followed by a spotlight on a year level (14 votes) and a spotlight on a learner (7 votes). We also appreciated the additional ideas some of you suggested, and we will take these into consideration as we plan future issues.
We’re excited to keep developing Captain’s Corner and will be updating it soon with more fun, informative, and engaging content - so stay tuned!
Year 5/6 ERP Market Stall
Our Year 5 and 6 students have been enthusiastically engaging in their Economics and Business unit, exploring how creativity and enterprise influence the world around us. Over the past few weeks, they have brainstormed ideas, planned their own small businesses, created budgets, designed marketing materials, and begun producing the items they will soon sell.
Excitement is building as students collaborate in groups to develop products for their market stalls, including a range of food and craft items. They’ve been applying their learning to make real-world business decisions—from researching customer preferences to setting prices and estimating potential profit.
All of this wonderful effort will culminate in our ERP Market Stall on Friday, 5 December, from 2:20 to 3:20 pm. Families are warmly invited to join us, explore the stalls, and support our young entrepreneurs as they proudly showcase their creativity and hard work. We look forward to sharing their fantastic creations with you!
