Catch the Kind - A spotlight on creating a positive change. 

Liliana, a Year Four student, noticed that sometimes people simply forget to be kind. She explained that when someone feels frustrated or angry, it’s easy for them to say something hurtful without meaning to.

Wanting to make a positive change, Liliana created a project called Catch the Kind.

Catch the Kind encourages everyone to look for and celebrate kindness. Liliana hoped that by doing this, her classroom community would become even more supportive and uplifting. She believes that kindness matters to everyone and that if we all work together as a team, we can create a joyful and welcoming day for all. 

Liliana and her Year Four classmates created kindness jars for all other year levels to help promote kindness beyond their own classroom. 

We are so lucky to have Liliana in our school community. She works hard to encourage everyone to spread kindness. Thank you, Liliana!

How it works:Throughout the week, students look out for acts of kindness happening around them instead of focusing on the tricky or unkind moments. Whenever they spot someone helping, including or encouraging another person, they write it down and place it in their Catch the Kind jar. 

At the end of the week, they read them out and the students always love to hear that someone noticed their kindness. 

We are so excited to see Liliana continue to make positive change in Galilee.
