From the 5/6 Classrooms

As we head into the final weeks of term, there’s a buzz of excitement across Team 5/6!

For our fabulous Grade 5s, the big reveal is coming soon - you’ll be finding out your new teachers and class groups for next year! It’s a time of fresh beginnings, new friendships, and exciting learning adventures ahead. And for our amazing Grade 6s, the countdown is on to high school! You’re about to step into a whole new chapter, full of opportunities to grow, lead, and shine. We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved, and we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.

Meanwhile, the whole team is working diligently on our upcoming Bizarre Bazaar! Students are busy launching their businesses, crafting products, designing advertisements, and preparing to showcase their creativity and entrepreneurial flair. The energy is electric, and we can’t wait to celebrate their hard work and innovation on Friday the 12th of December. There will be more details about this event closer to the date.

The Bizarre Bazaar is more than just a fun marketplace - it’s a holistic investigation that brings together Maths, Literacy, and STEM skills in an authentic, hands‑on way. Students calculate costs, profits, and budgets using their mathematical knowledge; they craft persuasive advertisements and engaging product descriptions through literacy; and they apply STEM thinking to design, create, and problem‑solve as they launch their businesses. This integrated approach makes learning purposeful and exciting, showing students how different skills connect in the real world while fostering creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit.
