From the Principal

Our Vision

Each child has a gift or talent. It is our job to find it and to show it to them.

Our Mission

Identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

Dear Le Page Families,

As we begin another exciting school year, we are focusing on strong routines and high expectations to ensure every student thrives. Establishing consistent routines helps students feel confident and ready to learn. One key focus this term is handwriting, as we encourage neat, legible, and fluent writing across all year levels. Developing strong handwriting skills enhances learning and allows students to take pride in their work. As the saying goes, "Excellence is not an act, but a habit."

This year, we are proud to offer high-achieving students access to programs like the John Monash Science School , the Victorian High Ability Program, the Maths Talent Quest, and the Student Excellence Program. These initiatives provide enrichment opportunities, challenge students to extend their learning, and support their academic growth. At Le Page, we believe in identifying and nurturing the unique talents of every student, helping them reach their full potential.

Le Page Primary School has become a new host school for Born to Soar in 2025. To introduce this fantastic opportunity for high-ability and gifted students, we invited parents to attend an information evening on Wednesday. Born to Soar offers specialised classes designed to challenge and extend gifted learners in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

These programs are open to students at Le Page Primary and surrounding schools, featuring small class sizes with two teachers to provide individualised support. Classes run for a half or full school day per week over an eight-week term, fostering original thinking in literacy, mathematics, science, and technology while also focusing on social and emotional wellbeing. To learn more or register your interest, contact Angus Giles at angus@borntosoar.com.au or 0477 036 807. Further details can also be found at borntosoar.com.au

Our new student leaders have also stepped into their roles with enthusiasm. The Student Lighthouse Representatives are already making positive contributions, from planning upcoming events to sharing ideas for school improvements. Leadership is about service, and we are confident these students will make a meaningful impact. As John Quincy Adams wisely said, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader."

Our much-anticipated Picnic Games Night was unfortunately washed out by the weather. Despite our best hopes for a fun-filled evening of games, music, and community spirit, the rain had other plans. However, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the families who braved the elements and showed up with their picnic rugs and umbrellas, ready to make the best of the situation. Your dedication and support mean so much to us, and while we couldn’t enjoy the night as planned, we appreciate the enthusiasm and resilience of our school community. We’ll be sure to bring back the fun at a future event—hopefully with sunnier skies.

Finally, our Swimming Program is well underway, providing students with essential water safety skills and building their confidence in the pool. Swimming is not just a sport—it’s a life skill, and we encourage all students to participate.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we are creating a learning environment where every child can shine!
