We are very pleased with the progress on our new building. The new toilet block is a big improvement for our school and the children are appreciative of the facilities. We are currently waiting for a installation date for the new playground, which will replace the old Year 3/4 playground. We will keep our community informed when we receive further information.
While it looks like a blank slate at the moment, we can imagine the new and upgraded facilities that will come to fruition later this year. This will change the face of HEPS, with our main entrance facing toward Armstrong Rd.
It is coming up to the time that we will be calling for nominations for School council. School council meet approximately 8 times per year. Being part of school council gives parents the opportunity to have an understanding of the way in which schools develop focus areas, budget for priorities, create policy documents and have general overview of Buildings and Grounds. We do hope that you will consider nominating and joining us for a two year term on council. Further information with critical dates has been shared on Compass.
At HEPS we recognise the importance of communication, and we would like all families to know we are available to discuss your child’s learning journey. If you have any concerns or questions about your child’s schooling – academic or wellbeing, please do not hesitate to get in touch with their classroom teacher via Compass. If the matter is urgent, we ask that you phone the school.
At HEPS, we also share important updates and information through emails, WhatsApp groups, Facebook, and our school newsletter. If you would like to follow us on Facebook, please click the link below to request access:
We hope these communication channels help keep our families engaged and informed throughout the year.

Lunchtime clubs have started for Term 1. These clubs are open to all students across the school, however, there may be limited spots in some clubs due to limited resources or space. Classroom teachers will remind students when clubs will be running. We will support students to access these clubs and further develop their social skills and friendships through meaningful and practical experiences.
Friendology is a program that we have been successfully running at HEPS since 2023. We have been very successful in achieving the programs aim to build our students' understanding about what makes a great friendship. Our teachers deliver targeted lessons that help kids continue to have and maintain relationships.
An innovation to this program has been the implementation of Level 5 Friendship Ninjas who, during recess and lunchtime, help students make connections and solve friendship fires.
