Principal's Message

Carmela D'Amato

Dear Families,

Thank you for your participation in our Get To Know You Chats and coffee catch up afternoons. We appreciate you valuing the time to come and tell us about your child so that each teacher can tap into strengths and opportunities for growth for each of our students. The coffee catch-up was also another way of gathering in a more casual manner to hear about what happens at School of The Good Shepherd, homework expectations, and other events happening within the year level. All information was then posted on Seesaw for everyone to access.

Congratulations to Our Student LeadersCongratulations to all of our student leaders who were presented at Assembly. We are proud of all of our students and wish our leaders a great year representing your classes. We look forward to working together on many projects throughout the school year.

Communication at SoGS

There are many different ways that we communicate with parents/carers/guardians at School of The Good Shepherd.

  1. SEESAW: Seesaw is an online platform that parents access via an app that allows teachers to share learning activities that the students have participated in throughout the day. We also post letters or information when we have to communicate something concerning learning or events.

  2. AUDIRI: This is another online platform where we send general notices to the whole school. At the moment, we have forms posted on Audiri as well. Please note that in Term 2, this will be REPLACED with NPortal. Many families are already using NPortal for absences, which is great.

Car Park Safety Reminder

We kindly remind all parents and caregivers to adhere to the 5km/h speed limit when driving in the school car park. The safety of our children is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a safe drop-off and pick-up experience for everyone. Please remain vigilant, follow all signage, and be patient during busy periods.

Parent Code of Conduct

A respectful and positive school environment is essential for our children, staff, and parents. We kindly ask all parents to adhere to the Parent Code of Conduct when on and around school grounds. This includes treating all members of our school community with kindness and respect, following school policies, and setting a positive example for our children. We appreciate your support in fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

Join the Parent Association!

A huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered to be part of the Parent Association (PA). Your time and dedication are greatly appreciated, and your contributions help enrich our school community. We are still seeking a Parent Representative for Years 1 and 4. If you are interested in this role, please email the Parent Association. Your involvement makes a difference!

Celebrating the Jubilee

This year marks an important milestone for our church as we celebrate the Jubilee. This is a special time of reflection, gratitude, and community engagement. We look forward to commemorating this significant year with various events and activities throughout the school and parish. Stay tuned for more details on how you and your family can take part in this celebration!

This is also a very special year for our parish as we celebrate our 50th birthday! Please look out for many special celebrations across the school year. We hope you can join us on Sunday 11th May at 11am when Archbishop Comensoli is joining our parish to celebrate mass with us.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school community.

We hope you have an amazing week!
