Wilma Hearn Arena 

It was our pleasure last week to host Mr Don Hearn at the College Equestrian Centre as we broke ground on the new undercover equestrian arena that will be built using a generous donation made in honour of his late wife, Wilma Hearn. The Wilma Hearn Arena will be a full-size competition arena, positioned in one of the current pony paddocks. It bring our equestrian facilities up to a standard equal to any school in the country. 

We look forward to construction starting later this term, and to officially opening the arena later in the year. 

Employment position at the College

We are seeking qualified and interested applicants for the most important role in the school – Canteen Coordinator. I am sharing this with you as parents in the hope that someone in our community may have a contact who would be interested in this important role. The role can be undertaken within school hours only, and is during term time only. I ask your assistance in sharing the role with your contacts, and staving off a potential student revolt should we not be able to fill it... Details of the position are available here. 

And finally, in a similar vein, my thanks to all Parents’ and Friends’ volunteers who stepped in to assist with the BBQs for the Junior and Senior School House Swimming Carnivals last week. There were a number of new parents wielding the tongs – your efforts were appreciated by students on each day. The Parents’ and Friends’ is a wonderful way to further connect with the College community and I encourage you to contact them or volunteer when the next opportunity comes around.
