Hope is our word for 2025!

What does hope mean at the start of the year? What are you, as the community, Hoping for in 2025? I hope it's the best year yet for the students, Parents, and Community members of Bayside. I pray that these scriptures, which we have chosen and prayed over, relate to Hope for you as they do for us.

Psalm 34:9-10 - "How blessed is the one who takes shelter in him. Fear the Lord, you chose people of his, for those who fear him lack nothing. Even young lions sometimes lack food and are hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing."
Proverbs 16:9 - "In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."

These verses do not directly say the word Hope in them although they show us that true hope is found in trusting God’s guidance and provision not merely trusting our efforts or understanding. Solomon in Proverbs encourages us to trust God with our plans and Psalms reassures us that seeking him leads to fulfillment and care. Combined these passages reinforce the idea that hope is not just wishful thinking but confidence in God’s sovereignty and faithfulness.

These provide us with guidance to trust when we worry about the students' futures. They remind us that God establishes their steps. When we lack in various ways, whether it’s grades, social life, or emotional support, those who prioritize God and seek and trust him will be provided for. Those who Hope in the Lord will lack nothing.

I have a lot planned for 2025 and I am expectant for God to move this year.

I Hope 2025 is a blessed year.

Kind Regards

Mr Josh Hill, Chaplain
