Every Day Counts
– Supporting Children with School Refusal
At our school, we are committed to doing everything we can to encourage students to be at school every day they can. Regular attendance is so important for learning, friendships, and a strong sense of belonging.
Sometimes, however, children may experience what is known as school refusal. This is more than the occasional “day off” and often looks like ongoing anxiety, physical complaints (like headaches or stomach aches), or distress about coming to school.
We understand how challenging this can be for families, and we want you to know you’re not alone. Our staff work closely with parents and carers to provide support, strategies, and reassurance so that children feel safe, connected, and ready to learn.
If you’re noticing your child is finding it hard to come to school, please reach out to us early. Together, we can put steps in place to help.
