ACS Night Match

Our much anticipated Night Game against Loyola College proved to be a fantastic evening of football, school spirit, and community celebration. The atmosphere under lights was electric, with families, staff, students, and Old Collegians coming together to enjoy a wonderful occasion both on and off the field.

The evening began with pre-match celebrations led superbly by our student executive students Ben D and Charlie O. It was also terrific to see old Collegians Amelia Velardo and Campbell Gray back in attendance, showing their support for the current teams and reminding us of the strong sense of connection within our community. Montana Ham also sent through a video passing on her best wishes and memories of her time during ACS Sport.

On the field, our girls team gave their all in a tough contest. Despite their effort and determination, they went down to a strong Loyola side by 6.8 (44) to 1.2 (8). Their resilience and team spirit were commendable, and the experience will no doubt serve them well in future competitions.

The boys team followed, and in an entertaining match they came away with a hard-fought win, defeating Loyola 7.10 (52) to 5.8 (38). The game was filled with pressure moments, but our team’s composure and teamwork shone through when it mattered most. Congratulations to Aidan B, who was deservedly announced Best on Ground for his outstanding performance across half back.

The Night Game not only showcased the talent and spirit of our students but also supported a worthy cause, with funds raised for Make-A-Wish Foundation. We are thrilled to share that the evening generated significant contributions that will go towards helping children and families in need.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped organise the evening – from staff and students to families, and our wider community. We appreciate your support and look forward to hosting the event again in 2027.

The Year 8 teamhad an outstanding day, starting the competition with four impressive wins to progress through to the final. In a hard-fought match, they were narrowly defeated, finishing in 2nd place overall – a fantastic achievement.

Our Year 9/10 team competed with great effort and commitment, facing some very strong opposition throughout the day. Their persistence and teamwork were a highlight, and they can be proud of their performance.

The Senior team also represented the school with pride, showing resilience and determination in every game. They fought valiantly across the competition and finished in a commendable 5th place overall.

Congratulations to all players on their efforts and achievements – you represented the school with excellence and should be proud of your results.
