A Week of Discovery and Experimentation

Overnewton came alive with curiosity and discovery during this year’s Science Week, with every school buzzing with exciting activities!

 

At Canowindra, Junior School explored creativity and chemistry by making their own lava lamps.

While over at Year 9, students were captivated by the Whoosh Bottle and Methane Bubbles demonstrations, including Ms. Mercieca who bravely volunteered to take part in the experiment.

At Yirramboi, Middle School students investigated a variety of scientific concepts such as surface tension with pepper and soap, inertia through paper and marbles. and air pressure using a hairdryer to levitate a table tennis ball and balloon.

Meanwhile, the Senior School showcased the breadth of science with a variety of experiments across chemistry, psychology, physics, and biology.

Science Week proved not just educational, but a celebration of curiosity and imagination across the whole school community. It also highlighted the wonder of Science and the joy of learning through exploration. The week concluded with a shared sense of inspiration, reminding us that science is not only about answers, but about asking questions and discovering new possibilities.
