Early last term, we decided to sell our first home, a small townhouse. We loved where we lived, but with a high-energy toddler running around, it was time to find something bigger.
Moving house is an exciting yet overwhelming experience. Going through years of belongings, packing up familiar spaces, and stepping into a new chapter brings a mix of emotions, joy, sadness, nostalgia, and uncertainty. It’s a reminder that life is always moving and changing.
Saying goodbye to my first home feels bittersweet. While we're ready for a bigger place with a backyard for my son, it will still be sad to part ways. My first home was where I got engaged, married, and started a family. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
No matter where we go, or how often we pack up and start again, God stays constant. His presence is our foundation, His love is our shelter, and His promises are our security. Whether we're in a place of comfort or stepping into the unknown, God goes ahead of us, preparing the way.
As I lift heavy boxes and say farewell to the familiar, I am reminded that my true home isn't a building but with the special people in my life. We're ready to start the next chapter.
"For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything." – Hebrews 3:4
