Bastille Day!

Bonjour tout le monde!
Last Friday St Bede's celebrated (a very belated) Bastille Day! As a school community, we embrace the journey of learning a language foreign to our own and immerse ourselves in a different culture. The day involved a variety of goodies, including:
- A special visit from our French scheme representative, Eleonor Palacio. She wrote the following about what she saw going around various classes taking part in their regular French lesson:
'Thank you for having me to visit TCL classes for your Bastille Celebrations Day on Friday. It was wonderful to see how your teachers have gained confidence in delivering French. It was evident from what I observed that students are familiar with TCL routines and that French class has become a safe space where a culture of error allows students to have a go and learn from their mistakes.'
- A creative Buddies session, where we crafted our own Eiffel Tower cards and included Bastille Day vocabulary
- A delicious French themed tuck shop from our amazing PTA - baguettes and croque monsieur all round!
- So many smartly dressed petit mademoiselle et monsieur! Cupcake prizes given to our best dressed French figures, including Ratatouille et mimes!
Thank you again to our wonderful community for embracing language learning and diving into another culture. We hope the children had une bonne journee :)
Merci beaucoup,
