Book Week!

Bonjour tout le monde,

This term, St Bede's will be celebrating Book Week, with the 2025 theme being 'Book an Adventure'. Book Week is a phenomenal week centered around reading and we can't wait to share some of the exciting activities we have planned.

Arrival of our Book Fair

From Wednesday 13th - Tuesday 19th August, the Scholastic Book Fair will be setting up shop in our library! Throughout the week, each class will have an opportunity to visit the fair & create a 'wish list'. Before and after school, parents and carers can visit the fair to purchase items or literature from the wish lists.

Book Parade

To showcase our literary preferences and creativity, we will be holding our annual book week fancy dress parade on the morning of Thursday 21st August on the oval (providing the Melbourne weather is kind to us) at 9am. Parents and carers are invited to join the parade with prizes available for best costumes! Please note, these should be inspired by classic children's texts that link to the theme - not just a footy kit :)

Literacy Showcase

Following our Book Parade at 9am, parents and carers will be invited into their child's classroom to explore what they've been doing within their Literacy lessons. This will be a 15 minute session and all visitors will be required to sign in before entering the classroom.

Book Week Activities

Throughout the week, children will be engaging in a variety of book week themed lessons, including book studies and a special edition of 'The Masked Reader'. All content will be viewable on our school Insta!

We thank parents and carers in advance for their support and enthusiasm with what is always a well-loved and engaging event throughout the school each year. For further information, please check out: https://cbca.org.au/childrens-book-week/

Merci,
