YEAR 3 - 6 News
Message from our Cooking Program Students
Students who participated in our Term 2/3 cooking program would like to say a huge thank you to Pascale (Social Worker) and Natalie (Ed support) for organising the recipes and teaching us new cooking skills. Thank you Elaina (Clay) for buying us fresh ingredients each week, Vanessa (Angel) and Elvira (London) for volunteering to help every Friday afternoon.
Our students enjoyed experimenting with different foods, mixing all the ingredients together, learning lots of new recipes and the kindness from the staff.
A few of their favourite recipes included homemade pizza dough with lots of added toppings, pesto pasta and banana muffins.
We look forward to welcoming our new group next week for more fun in the kitchen!
Year 3/4A
As we progress through the term. 3/4A have been exploring their Inquiry topic “Australia.” Our learning has led us to explore the states of Australia and landmarks across the country. The children embarked upon a research project, developed their mapping skills and built upon their general knowledge. We have thoroughly enjoyed our learning.
Here is some of the information we discovered..
Melbourne: “Flinders Street Station was the first train station built in an Australian city. The MCG can hold 100,024 people, it was built in 1853.”
Sydney: “Sydney Harbour bridge is the world’s heaviest steel arch bridge. Luna Park was built in 1935”
Canberra: “The Parliament house was built in 1923. The Telstra Tower is almost 200m tall!”

Mini Boss Incursion
The 3 – 6 students enjoyed conducting experiments creating reactions and making ‘Bath Bombs’ during the MiniBOSS incursion on Monday. They put their science knowledge and skills to good work, using a range of problem-solving strategies to participate in the experiments.
National Gallery of Victoria Excursion
Grades 5/6 school leaders were fortunate to attend an excursion to the National Gallery of Victoria to participate in an Elemental Workshop. Art projects like these not only allow students to express their creativity but also foster a sense of pride and connection to their school environment. Engaging with art in a gallery setting can be inspiring and educational, providing students with a chance to learn and apply new artistic techniques while also enjoying a memorable and enriching day. This experience has left a positive impression on the students. The workshop focused on producing pieces of art to adorn the walls in the refurbished Windsor Building. The school leaders would like to acknowledge the Parent and Friends (P&F) group for funding this creative project.
