Dear Parents and Carers

On 2nd September this year I will be leaving to attend a two week course in Leuven, Belguim, at the Catholic University (I know poor me). As well as participating in lectures on such subjects as ‘Deep Learning across traditions’ and ‘Theologies of Catholic School Identity’  I will visit schools in Flanders, Brussels and Ghent as well as Ypes and the Australian memorial at Flanders Field, several churches and Abbeys and the annual Leuven fair. After that, my husband and I will spend some time touring and I will be back at the start of term 4.

Wendy Fall will be in charge for that time and then after the holidays, Wendy and Chris will spend time in Bali working in our sister school and hopefully having a break as well.

We have finally received the date of the celebration of the Opening of Stage 2 of our Masterplan October 11th at 10.30. We actually moved into the second stage at the end of term two 2021 but because of COVID, occasions such as Openings, were put on hold. We will send out more information closer to the time.

I have a challenge for the dedicated readers of the newsletter. (After the Trivia Night I know there are not a lot!!) Somewhere throughout this newsletter the word ‘Recontextualisation ‘ is buried. This is one of the subjects I will be studying in Leuven so I thought you might be interested. There will be a prize for the first family to find it! As soon as you find the word 'Recontextualisation' (no not the one on this page), send an email to me  principal@olsscowes.catholic.edu.au telling me which page it is on. First email I receive will be the winner. (And yes this is my way of seeing just who is reading the newsletter!!)
