Principal's Report

Mrs Larissa Vesdrevanis

It has certainly been an eventful term, culminating in our highly anticipated whole school production, which stands out as a highlight for the year. The journey we have embarked on together has been nothing short of amazing for our students, teachers, and the wider school community. The inclusive nature of our school production has provided our students with invaluable skills and dispositions that will undoubtedly benefit them throughout their lives.

During my closing speech, I emphasised the dedication of our teachers and their unwavering commitment to building authentic relationships with their students. These relationships serve as the foundation for helping our students "dance and find the music that they love," both literally and figuratively. This is the Donvale way!

As mentioned in my recent newsfeed on Wednesday, families will have the opportunity to purchase the stunning photos captured by Craig Buszko during the two unforgettable nights of our production. Please take a moment to preview some sample photos below.

Please note that the actual photos for purchase will be higher resolution and quality.

Furthermore, we would like to express our gratitude to Jack Careedy from Photo Bomb Productions for skilfully capturing our school production on video. We are excited to share the video link with you early in Term 4.

As we approach the end of this term, we must bid farewell to Miss Mona Yan, our dedicated Mandarin Teacher who graciously stepped in for Mr. Rock Kho during his leave last year. With Mr. Kho resuming his role in Term 4, Mona's time with us has come to an end. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Mona for the positive impact she has had on our students, teachers, and the broader community. We wish Mona all the best in her future endeavours and extend our deepest appreciation for her invaluable contributions to our school.

We had a lovely visit from Donvale Preschool this past Wednesday. The educators and children walked over to the school for a 'Primary School Excursion' for the 4-5year old group. The kinder were very grateful for the opportunity Please see feedback below:

'We wanted to thank you for our amazing visit yesterday. We really appreciate the time and effort that went into organising the day. Both the children and parent helpers with us on the day had an amazing time and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.  It was such a well thought out program and gave the children a really positive overview of school and covered I think every section of your school".

Thank you to Mrs Rassias, Mrs Keep, Mrs DeStefanis, Miss Valentine, Mrs Hodgson for your contribution. A big thank you to the Marimba band for their amazing performance and 5/6 student helpers.

Wishing you all a restful and rejuvenating break ahead.
