Foundation News…

In Foundation, we alternate daily between Number Talks and Daily Reviews before we begin our Maths lesson. Daily Reviews are a way for us to review past learning, and continue to engage with these skill taught previously so we don't forget them. A Daily Review consolidates students understanding of maths concepts and develops their fluency in essential numeracy skills. A Number Talk involves students using their problem solving skills to solve open ended maths questions. Students are then encouraged to talk about the strategies they used to solve the problem in front of their peers. Number talks are a great way to engage in mathematical thinking to build our number sense and fluency.
