Sienna's Insights

Art & Technology

This week I was fortunate enough to get to talk to the Year 10 Photography class! They are currently working on their Photographer Essays, and I had the chance to talk to their teacher, and some of the students to get an insight into the subject!

Year 10 Photography teaches students how to use a digital camera, how to adjust the aperture, ISO and shutter speed, and how to take certain types of photos, like a jumping photograph, or a photograph of a bubble.

Of course I got to have a chat to a few of the students:

How do you find this subject so far?

Charlotte: It’s really interesting and I love hanging out with my friends.

Lucy: I find it really fun and I get excited to go to that class everyday.

Katie: Its good, I enjoy taking photos and I feel that my prior knowledge in this subject helps me to improve my photos heaps.

What inspires you within this subject?

Charlotte: My friends inspire me.

Lucy: Seeing the photos other people take inspires me to take my own.

Katie: Taking photos of my friends.

Does this subject encourage you or other students to create outside of school?

Charlotte: Yes, it does.

Lucy: It doe.  It makes me feel encouraged to take more photos outside of the world.

Katie: Yes, I have my own camera, so the skills I learn in class help me with my personal photography as well.

I am super excited to see what this wonderful photography class can continue to create within this subject! Fantastic work Year 10s!
