Sacred Heart Happenings
Cooking With Mrs Stephens
During week 1 of Term 4, the Years 3/4/5 and 6 students were lucky enough to do some cooking with Mrs Stephens
"This recipe is famous in the Stephens household! Top secret.. but I’m willing to share!"
TRIPLE CHOC BROWNIES
180g butter melted
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 cup of castor sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
4 eggs
100g plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
100g chocolate chips or chocolate chopped
100g of white chocolate (you can use pecans or walnuts instead)
Preheat oven to 160 degrees. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Melt butter, add to a bowl and and mix in sugar then cocoa powder and vanilla.
Lightly beat the eggs and add them but don’t mix too much. Add the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix until just combined. Add chocolate and nuts (if you wish). Mix. Spread out over the tray and bake for 20 minutes (if you want them gooey) 25 minutes for more of a cake consistency.
We were able to capture photos of the baking process but we were not quick enough to get a photo of the finished product because they were so delicious!
