Mr. Carlyle's Message

Hello families and welcome to this week’s newsletter.

Victorian School Building Authority

The big news this week was the announcement on last Friday morning, by The Hon. Natalie Hutchins MP that the Ballan Primary School site has been selected for a new kindergarten build.   The project is being managed by the VSBA and the targeted completion is the start of 2025.   This project is in recognition of Ballan’s projected growth, and the future needs of the region and will compliment the existing kinder providers in Ballan.   There is a dedicated page in this newsletter with further information.

Grandparents and friends day

Last Thursday was an amazing morning with classrooms full of visiting family members.  The feedback and conversations were so very well received and I would personally like to thank everyone for their, interest, support and energy on the day.  The students and staff were left feeling energised by the morning.

Edols St.  Pick up and Drop off parking

A reminder to the community that there is a marked school crossing on Edols St.  There have been reported instances of cars parked within the crossing flags area and even across the crossing itself.  Please be aware that there is a 15-meter no-standing zone clearly signed on either side of the crossing when the flags are displayed.

2024 Intentions

On the subject of the 2024 school year, I have already commenced workforce planning for next year. Each year we receive funding to manage school staffing per the number of students enrolled. If you know or expect that you won’t be attending Ballan Primary School next year if you are able to make contact with the office as soon as possible so our enrolment projections for next year are as accurate as possible that would be greatly appreciated.
