Principal's Report

Dear community,

Student Learning - Improvement in writing

Lots of exciting and new learning has continued this term. The students progress in writing this time is worth a shout out. The school has a focus on explicit teaching and using success criteria that enables students to set their own writing goals. This is having a very positive impact in all classrooms K-2. I am very proud of how our students are working towards their personal goals.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated teaching staff. The effort and care they put into planning teaching and learning sequences, as well as their ongoing professional development, greatly contribute to making our school a high-quality learning environment.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

We had another successful round of parent-teacher interviews this term. Many parents took the valuable opportunity to meet with their child’s teachers. These meetings are important for strengthening the partnership between school and home.

Student reports were also delivered this term. We continued to provide printed copies to families and made reports available electronically through the parent portal on the School Bytes app. If you did not receive or have misplaced your child’s report, please see the school office for assistance.

School Fundraising: BBQ Success

This term, we held a fundraising BBQ to raise money to contribute to purchasing outdoor furniture for our playground and to subsidise student excursions. Thanks to the very kind and generous donations from Woolworths CFC Caringbah — who donated bread rolls and poppers — and The Butcher Boys Rockdale — who donated the sausages — we were able to raise $660 for our school.

Woolworths also generously donated Zooper Doopers for all our students. We will freeze these and hand them out to the children when the weather warms up.

Demountable Classroom Removal - A message from School Infrastructure

School holidays are the ideal time to undertake maintenance and projects without disrupting student learning. During the winter holidays, two demountable classrooms located on the west side of Arncliffe West Infants School will be removed.

This work will take place from the end of the school day on Friday 3 July 2026, up to the first day of Term 3, Tuesday 21 July 2026 — weather and site permitting.

Removing the demountable classrooms will return the space to open play areas for students to enjoy.

Work hours will be between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, in line with NSW Environment Protection Authority guidelines.

Please note there may be increased noise and traffic along Loftus Street during this period. We will do our best to minimise any disruptions. The health, safety and wellbeing of all members of our school and local community remain our highest priority.
