News & Information
Term 2 Begins
The past two weeks, our students and staff have been settling into the new term. The season has changed, and the once-vibrant green leaves are now transforming into a breathtaking display of autumn hues. This natural transition reminds us of God's unwavering promises and the beauty that can arise from change.
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23
No matter what challenges or changes lie ahead, we can find comfort in the knowledge that God's love and faithfulness endure. Let's embrace this new term with open hearts and minds, ready to grow and thrive in His grace.
Anzac Day 2024
Remembering our past, present, and fallen Australian Defence Force personnel with fellow schools and members of our local community is an honoured tradition at LCS.
On Anzac Day, staff and students represented our school at the West Tamar and Launceston City ANZAC ceremonies. Wreaths were laid by our representatives in Launceston and Beaconsfield.
Art work by Year 10 students.
"God of our fathers, known of old,
Lord of our far-flung battle line,
Beneath whose awful hand we hold
Dominion over palm and pine—
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!" - 1897 Rudyard Kipling
464 Dedication
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.
Psalm 106:1
Last Friday, our new Student Support Hub: 464 was officially dedicated and opened to our school community. The newly renovated house is now home for our Student Support services which comprise of the Educational Support Unit, Wellbeing Unit, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse program, The Rite Journey, and Student Leadership Council. All these different branches support students to thrive at school.
The day was a huge success, with parents enjoying a delicious coffee from the Bloom Coffee van while they toured the house. It was wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate this exciting new chapter.
During the day classes came and had tours, and then after school staff gathered and the space was dedicated. We thank the Lord for this wonderful gift and blessing.
Association Morning Tea - Honouring our Founders
Last Thursday, our Association gathered for a special morning tea, honouring the vision and dedication of our Founders. As we reflected on the solid foundation they laid, we are reminded of the Bible verse, "For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 3:11)
It was a joy to visit our new student support hub, 464, which was dedicated the following day.
Together, we can build upon the strong foundation that has been laid before us and continue to make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.

It was a tight tussle with SPC but the boys played some clutch singles and doubles matches to secure the title for the 3rd year in a row!
These boys are all in Yr. 12 and have had a run of sustained success so they will be passing the baton onto our younger players who are coming through the ranks!

My Christian School
CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS ARE different.
Our students go into the world with Christian hope in their hearts. A new generation of Aussies who love to volunteer, to serve their communities and to build strong families.
At the heart of this difference is the living Christian faith of teachers and staff. People whose lives model the grace and love of Christ. However, proposals from the Australian Law Reform Commission threaten to change this. Hiring a teacher or staff member at a Christian school because they are actually a Christian may soon be seen as discrimination.
My Christian School is for Australians who believe in this difference.
Together, we can preserve this precious difference for future generations.
