Around the Classroom

Learning in Weeks 5 & 6

Mathematics: In Applied Maths, we will complete a variety of testing as well as continue to explore how to read maps and use cardinal directions. Week 5 will be our last week of 'Multiplication' and 'Division' in Fluid Groups as we will begin looking at 'Fractions' in Week 6.

Writing & Reading: In Writing, students will be researching an endangered animal of their choice, focusing on their habitat, physical appearance, diet and other fascinating facts. Students will then use this information to write and publish an Informative Report on their chosen animal. In Reading, we will be focusing on reading and gathering information about our endangered animals. We will also practise note taking and use what we have learned to complete our Information Reports.

Topic: Next week we will explore what 'Environmental Sustainability' is and how we can use our natural resources wisely. Starting from Week 6, students will begin designing a poster to promote awareness and discussion around their chosen endangered animal.
