Why did the chicken cross the road? To read our new mentor text, haha! Our new mentor text is called Wendy. It is about a chicken who rides a motorbike. She is a crazy and extraordinary chicken because she rides motorbikes over trucks and buses. We continued Wendy by writing a fictional story based on the last page. We used the think, feel and wonder strategy. It is how we create our ideas. Sometimes our best ideas don't come until the very end. We have enjoyed the mentor text. Thank you for reading our article and have a clucky day.

This week 3/4A and 3/4B learnt some fabulous tips for cross-country, such as breathing every few steps, drinking lots of water, jogging while moving our arms slowly and stretching if you get a stitch. We have ran around the oval a few time for practise. It was lots of fun and we are looking forward to the cross country race.

In Maths, we are learning about fractions. We have been making and drawing fractions. We have been exploring halves, quarter, thirds, fifths and tenths. We have been learning about fractions in the real world. For example, we have been looking at blocks and how to half them or split them into quarters. We have also made think boards. I enjoyed designing mine.

This article is about events and celebrations at school. This Wednesday, we would like to inform you that Beaufort Primary School will participate in cross-country around Beaufort Lake.* We will not be running the shorter track but instead the longer track. Please, can all students wear full school uniform, but wear clothes they feel comfortable running in. Best of luck, students!
