National Careers Week will be celebrated in Australia between 13-19 May this year.  During this special week, our students will engage in a variety of activities designed to help them think about their unique gifts and talents, as well as explore a diverse array of career opportunities available to them.

Our Careers and VET Coordinator, Mrs Dianna de Deuge has been busy organising our Careers Expo that will be held on Thursday 16 May from 5.30pm-8.30pm in our Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) Careers Week is more than just an event on our academic calendar; it is an opportunity for our students to discern God's calling in their lives and learn about, and be inspired by, some of the possibilities open to them. High School and Senior Secondary families are very welcome to attend.

Students will have the chance to interact with representatives from various industries, businesses, and vocational and training programs. Careers Week provides an opportunity for students to think and talk about their gifts and talents, the activities they are good at and those that bring them joy. Many of us will have had, or will have, winding career paths in our lives. Lee Hardy, in Fabric of This World, explains that career paths are rarely straight. Typically, they are afflicted by detours and unmarked intersections. Similarly, there are multiple and flexible education paths for the careers people choose. My prayer is that our Year 7-12 students will attend the Career Expo with an open mind and ready to consider a wide range of possibilities.

As Christians, we believe that our vocation is a calling from God, whether it be in the ministry, medicine, business, arts, or trades. Our mission is to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and spiritual discernment they need to pursue their callings with excellence and integrity, serving as beacons of God's light in their chosen fields.

I encourage parents and carers to join us in prayer as our students embark on this journey of discovery during Careers Week and the Career Expo. Please lift them up in prayer, asking for God's guidance, provision and protection as they begin to discern their futures, and make choices about the electives they will select in subsequent years.

Two of our Primary teachers have had some changes in their career paths over the past few months as they have been working in acting roles in our school. We are very excited to share with you the news that Mrs Erin Beer and Mrs Cassie Miles have been appointed as Co-Heads of Primary at our Ulverstone campus. We are very blessed to be able to benefit from their leadership and their knowledge, skills and wisdom in our school.

May God's blessings abound as we embrace His calling with faith, courage, and humility.
