Seeing a Plan come to Life
At the Burnie Campus, we have been blessed to see part of our school's mission of being a “Christ-centred K-12 education (facility) that inspires, nurtures and equips students to connect learning to life” come to fruition through the building of our new classrooms.
Over the past couple of years there has been significant growth in our school which has meant that we needed to be creative with our learning spaces and many areas of the school had to become more flexible as we built facilities to cater to our growth.
I am someone who has a vision for what these areas could look like. I love to design the spaces to meet our needs, but I have absolutely no ability to draw up plans, follow them or correctly interpret them. Thankfully I don’t need to have these skills, as God has equipped others to be able to do this in a way that brings these intricate details to life.
It has been so exciting this week to see our teachers, staff and students embrace these new learning spaces with co-operative teaching taking place across both rooms. While students are working on things like Maths Pathways, they have been solving their math problems on a portable and writable desk. Others have taken the bean bag chairs outside to enjoy the outdoor learning spaces while working independently. Still others have been in the breakout pod grouping together to see some of their work done. It truly has become a flexible learning space.
As the building and gardens have taken shape, and the full extent of how incredible they would be has become obvious, it has made me reflect on God’s plans for each of our lives. We have a Master Planner who knows every part of our lives, He knows how the end will look from the beginning, and He has every intricate detail mapped between these two points. What a blessing to know that the God who created the universe, who flung the stars into space and who created the seasons we enjoy each year, created us with as much care, attention to detail and love. We may not always be privileged to be able to step back to see the finished picture, as I can now stand in front of our (almost) finished buildings, but we can know the God who can and trust Him with every part of the ‘build’ of our lives.
If you are in a season of waiting to see how the end will look from the beginning or if you are a little shaky in knowing how you will navigate this time, turn to God, lean into Him and surrender the ‘build’ to Him as He is a master builder. No detail will be overlooked, the foundations will remain firm, and the end product will be just what was needed to see you through.
