Congratulations to the College Chamber Choir who, in collaboration with the students from Mt St Michael’s College, have supported several Anzac events over the last week. On each occasion the group has added a special dimension of reverence to the services and their efforts have been very much appreciated by the wider Ashgrove community. A big thank you to Ms Alison Braidwood, Ms Melanie Stewart and Ms Miriam Townsley for organising and preparing the students for these events.
As part of the worldwide celebrations for International Jazz Day, Big Band 1 performed a short set in the Draney Forecourt during first break today. All staff and students were welcomed to our small celebration through music.
International Jazz Day brings together communities, schools, artists, historians, academics, and jazz enthusiasts all over the world to celebrate and learn about jazz and its roots, future and impact; raise awareness of the need for intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding; and reinforce international cooperation and communication. Each year on April 30, this international art form is recognized for promoting peace, dialogue among cultures, diversity, and respect for human rights and human dignity; eradicating discrimination; fostering gender equality; and promoting freedom of expression.

From the mean streets of Jersey to the American Bandstand, JERSEY BOYS: The School Edition follows the thrilling story of how four young men from the wrong side of the tracks became the biggest doo-wop sensation of all time: The Four Seasons.
