From the Principal

26 April, 2024

Seeing so many community members at the Warrandyte Festival last Saturday was wonderful. Felicity W of 6M and I had a fantastic morning walking in the parade with the Warrandyte Community Bank. Other students participating in the parade included Eden B with Park Orchards Sharks and Flynn and Hamish L with Park Orchards BMX Club. After the parade, our senior choir performed two songs under the direction of Mrs Bowen. Congratulations to Raymond C for winning the Duck race! The trophy will be delivered to the school.

POPS ANZAC DAY Service

ANZAC Day, originally observed on April 25, 1916, commemorates the landing of Australian and New Zealand forces at Gallipoli, Turkey, in 1915. This tradition now serves as a moment to honour the sacrifice and commitment of veterans, service members, and their supportive families.

Our school's ANZAC service, led by our year 6 leaders on Wednesday afternoon, held great significance for our community. We proudly acknowledged the service and commitment of veterans and service members. It was wonderful to hear Liam C, Grace D, Bette S, and Alex K share items or memories honoring their family members who served for Australia. Special thanks to Mrs. Debono for organising the service.

Aussie of the Month Assembly

On Monday April 29 at 9am we will hold our 2nd Aussie of the month Assembly. This is a student led assembly, SRC members, school and vice captains run this assembly. The Bucket filling awards are given by the SRC members. If you are able to come to the assembly they are always a wonderful example of student voice and agency. In the afternoon there is a cupcake stall and a preloved uniform sale.

Have a great weekend,

Ms Garrity
