Sports News

We have our annual athletics carnival coming up on Friday 31st May. We apologise for the change of date and look forward to seeing you there!

Please keep an eye out on our Face Book page for any updates.

Congratulations to Kolby Martin and Mia Baker who have both made selection in the Greater Western Open Rugby League sides. This places them as students with very high representative honours now going straight to the state carnival at the end of May.

Only a very small cohort of students have ever achieved this in the proud history of our school.

Well done Kolby and Mia.

Congratulations to the Open Girls Touch Football team who won their semi final on Tuesday 7th May, against Wee Waa 7-4. A wonderful team effort by a great group of girls.

They now progress to play the winner of Quirindi and Warialda in the Regional North West Final.

On Tuesday 7th May, the 15’s girls soccer squad headed to Tenterfield to take part in round 2 of the Bill Turner Trophy knockout competition. After a very tight and competitive first half the score still stood at nil all. Tenterfield came out strong getting a goal 5 mins into second half, Glen then went on the attack with Brooklyn quickly leveling the score 1 all. As things settled, Mary took a long shot leading to a dot penalty for a hand ball in which Ellie Knox fired one into the back of the net. All the girls had great fun and all played a part in the 2-1 win.

Well done girls and now we have made it to rd 3 taking on the winning team from Armidale or Inverell in the coming weeks

We would like to wish all the best to Kaitlyn Casson playing in the CHS Football Knockout in Coffs as part of the North West Open Girls Football team this week. Have a great experience Kaitlyn. This is her 2nd consecutive year of playing at this level.

Congratulations to our Open Boys Touch team with a convincing win against Narrabri 13-2! Thankyou to Narrabri for making the long trip to play in our home town! Many thanks to Gus Macrae for giving up his time to ref this important semi final! The boys now face Farrer in the NW Regional Final.
