Performing Arts
THIS TERM IN THE CLASSROOM...
Students in foundation and year 1 will be focusing on drama this term. Students will practice non-verbal communication and take turns in offering and accepting story ideas in a group setting. Students in year 2 will use objects and technology to create ideas and stories, as well as participating in small-group improvisations. Year 3/4 students are focusing on Music this term. They will use the five elements of Music to analyse songs, play percussion instruments and learn the ukulele. The year 5/6 students will use the elements of Dance to analyse dances from various cultures, and learn, practice and perform body percussion choreographies.
WHAT'S COMING UP THIS TERM...
BOROONDARA PARK CHOIR
Thank you to everyone who has signed up for choir! We have started our first choir rehearsal on Tuesday, and our Year 3-6 students were enthusiastic and sang with lovely voices.
Below are key information regarding choir rehearsals:
- Rehearsal time: Every Tuesday Lunchtime (1:40pm - 2:20pm)
- Location: Performing Arts room
LUNCHTIME CONCERTS
I know many of our students at Boroondara Park are talented musicians, so starting Term 2, I will be introducing Lunchtime concerts. There will be a few lunchtimes in the term where the Performing Arts room will be open to students to come in and perform/be an audience. More information about specific dates and times will be announced later this term.
