P&F Events

It's been a busy week for the P&F.  Last week we hosted the Primary School Meet and Mingle, it was good to see families enjoying the sausage sizzle and a cool drink on what was a rather hot day.

On Sunday, despite the wet weather around 30 parents and kids attended Bridge Park for our annual kayaking event.

Always a good excuse to catch up and have some fun with the kids on the water.

On Sunday, the P&F year representatives gathered on school grounds to learn more about their roles as representatives and provide some input into what we are doing going forward.

Upcoming P&F Events

Sunday 6 April - Afternoon on the Knoll

A family picnic-style event on the banks overlooking our picturesque Oyster Harbour.  We’ll provide the music and some entertainment for the children.  Just bring some nibbles, drinks, and a picnic blanket.

Saturday 3 May - Dads and Kids Sleepout - at school (near the vineyard), save the date.

Mental Health First Aid – Updates and Two New Courses for Adults

Teen Mental Health First Aid

I was seriously impressed by Mr McLean's Year Ten Health Ed class's reflective and earnest participation in our course over the past three weeks; our course is now complete, and students will receive their Certificates in a few weeks.

Weeks Seven, Eight and Nine, herald training for Mr Sarre's Year Ten class, which I'm sincerely looking forward to. I really want students to feel comfortable and in control of their well-being during the course, and I will reiterate this (and the protocols around self-care) following Monday when I visit the class in readiness for the launch on Thursday.

Mr Donaldson’s Year Ten Health Ed class will participate in their training in the early stages of Term Two.

Ulster Road Update

We’ve nearly completed work to replace a wastewater pipeline under Ulster Road. This work will ensure a reliable wastewater service in the area, helping to shape Albany’s water future.

What to expect:

  • From Wednesday 5 March 2025, the northbound lane of Ulster Road between Angove Road and Martin Road will reopen.
  • From Thursday 6 March 2025 the southbound lane of Ulster Road between Lower King Road and Martin Road will close for approximately two weeks. This will ensure we can safely restore the area.
  • Over the coming month DM Civil will be removing the site office and project storage area near North Road and Lockyer Avenue.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we complete this essential work. We'll continue to keep you updated on our progress via email. To view a map of the work stages and timeline, please visit our website.
