INTERSCHOOL SWIMMING

SOUTH GIPPSLAND INTERSCHOOL SWIMMING CARNIVAL

The small team of 17 students from Korumburra Secondary College made a splash at the South Gippsland Interschool swimming Carnival on Thursday, March 6th at Korumburra Swimming Pool. Each competitor that raced showed true spirit in the water, as they made every effort to represent our school with pride against some talented competition. We witnessed some incredible sportsmanship and role modelling from our students, including a team of our Year 9 and 10 male and female students forming a mixed medley relay and mixed freestyle relay team to maximise our opportunity on the day. In addition to this, we had a Year 7 brave the power of the senior students from other schools to compete in the Open 200m Freestyle and many of our students opt in to events in addition to what they qualified for.  Brooklyn Packer was announced age group champion runner-up for the under 13 girls at the end of the day with our school finishing 5th overall.

Congratulations to each student who faced ‘the butterflies’, and gave it their all to represent our college. Your strength, bravery, commitment and sportsmanship was inspirational.

We wish Brooklyn every success as she competes at the Regional Swimming in Sale. Thank you to Mr. Andrew, Ms Kennedy and Ms Lloyd for supporting our students and taking on officiating roles for this event.
