Take Your Marks, Get Set, GO! Our 2025 Interhouse Athletics Carnival went off with a “BANG” with magnificent weather on our side and an abundance of teachers, students, supportive family and friend’s trackside to make this year’s event a success. With many students proudly dressed in their house colours, events got underway both on the track and in the field, and before too long we saw our first record broken in the field events. With a total of 12 new records set by our current student cohort, there were calls for celebration throughout the day. What an incredible achievement.

The Champion of Champions 100m dash at the end of the day saw Max Fowles (Year 11) crowned our fastest male for 2025 and Moneve Egeberg (Year 12) was crowned our fastest female. With something for everyone, we saw a large number of students trying their hand at a number of different events. From sprints and long distance, to hurdle, throws and jumps. With Whitelaw, Howitt and Strzelecki keen to win the trophy this year, it was a collective effort from the McDonald team to see them, once again, take out Overall Male Champion, Overall Female Champion and Overall House Champion. Congratulations to every student who attended the day, whether it be as a spectator, assisting our staff with the set-up, pack up or running of events, or competing, it truly was a great carnival and we wish our athletes who have qualified for the Interschool Athletics on the 31st March the best of luck.
