2025 CURRICULUM CONTRIBUTIONS

A Letter from School Council

Dear Parents and Carers,

At Moorabbin Primary School, we are proud to offer an enriched and exciting learning experience for all our students, with opportunities that extend beyond the standard curriculum.

While core elements of education are funded by the Department of Education, plus generous Victorian Government grants for our new classrooms & gymnasium, a lot of what the school offers comes down to the generosity of our MPS families through voluntary contributions.

Where does your contribution go?

Your voluntary contribution plays a huge part in enhancing the education of every child at MPS. Below are examples of optional items that contributions go towards, above and beyond the basics:

• Laptops, learning tools, and library books

• Specialist programs Science, Music, Chinese (LOTE), Art, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Physical Education.

• Tutors, professional specialists and intervention teachers for students needing extra help or extension opportunities.

• Relief teachers to cover classes during teacher absences.

• Well-maintained school facilities like heating, cooling, clean and well-maintained grounds & play equipment

• Leadership programs to develop leadership skills and responsibility.

• Lunchtime club resources, toys & games, fostering creativity, social interaction, & skill development.

The Impact of Your Support

With everyone’s support, we can continue to offer and even expand on these exceptional opportunities! Unfortunately, over the past few years voluntary contributions have declined significantly, leaving the school with difficult decisions about the future of these optional items.

How You Can Help MPS Continue to Thrive

Thank you to the many families that have already finalised their 2025 contributions. If you haven't yet, we invite you to contribute at any time throughout the year, whether in full, in part, or installment payments. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps make a meaningful impact. To make your contribution log into Compass or visit the school office for details on payment options. Building Fund specific contributions are tax-deductible.

Other Ways You Can Get Involved

There are other ways to help support our school community. Business sponsorship of events or facilities, donations of goods, or volunteering your time at school events, working bees, in the classroom and excursions.

You may also consider joining School Council or Parents & Friends

Together we can continue to provide memorable and exceptional educational experiences for every child throughout their years at Moorabbin Primary School.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
